Imaro The Quest for Cush Imaro III: The Trail of Bohu All by Charles R. Saunders These books have proven invaluable for my Nyambe gaming. Chris Dolunt was inspired by these books when he was writing Nyambe material and it is easy to see why. While not a perfect match for Nyambe it comes close with evil mchawi, sleeping evils and trade with the near and far east. It follows the story of a warrior from childhood in the grasslands to fighting for all life on the continent of Nyumbani. Plus there are fun glossaries in the back of each book which help in coloring your game with new words. While these books are out of print they are easy to find: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/104-4358143-6883911I highly recommend them. They are a great read. But don't take my word for it. Go to the Amazon link above and read the reviews there for yourself. Happy Adventuring!

These aren't that easy to find. Luckily I managed to order a copy of the first book from www.half.com for less than $7 after shipping. I'm looking forward to checking it out! Randy...

Hello to one and all.
I 'm a big fan of the Imaro trilogy, seeing as there has only been 3 novels written. I actually bought them in pairs. One set for collecting and the other for knocking about with.
I would really like to know if there will be more in the future or if there is a way to contact the author.

I recently bought them on amazon, all three of them; in pairs. I needed a set for collecting and the other for knocking about with. I Absolutly love them. The best purchase made this year. Has there been any word on whether there will be more Imaro novels, and is there a way to get in touch with the author? ;D

Here is an interview that sheds some light on the publishing nightmare of the Imaro series. www.scifidimensions.com/May01/charlessaunders.htm The best info I have on him is Eastern Canada, Nova Scotia? Works for a Newspaper. That is all I have. He wrote 2 articles in Dragon Magazine. Mzee, Dragon 86 (early story about Imaro) Out of Africa, Dragon 122 - monsters of africa So if you can get your hands on the Dragon Magazine Archive you'll have them.

These books have proven invaluable for my Nyambe gaming. Chris Dolunt was inspired by these books when he was writing Nyambe material and it is easy to see why. Imaro are among my preferred series of all times. I did read them thrice, and plan to read them again. They are the only books I have read more than once; when I tried to read Tolkien for the second time I got bored after a few pages... My only complaint about them is that seemingly the fourth novel that ended the cycle was never published. What a shame! I even tried to contact the author with no success. I would love to see these books printed for a second time, but it seems that these uber excellent series will be forgotten and never come back... In any case I would like to point out that Chris dolunt was NOT inspired by Imaro for writing Nyambe. In fact, long ago when I first found Nyambe website, I did ask him about it, and he answered that he did not know about these books. He bought them after I had told him about them.

My bad on this I guess. I remember Chris stating on the original Nyambe site or some forum that he wanted to get in touch with Saunders for a possible collaborative work.
Say, anyone want to start posting ideas for how to use Nyambe rules for Nyumbani? We could have monster write-ups, geographical notes and character stats from the Imaro series!
