I purchased the Nyambe setting a while back and have found it to be an excellent campaign book. It's great to finally see a setting set in medieval Africa that actually does the continent some justice. All this praise aside ;D, here's a question:
Will future Nyambe products be 3.5 compatible? I know a few Nyambe products after the campaign book have been released, but am unsure if they are 3.5 compatible or not.
Thanks.

Welcome to the Nyambe Fan Site iltharanos!
Dire Spirits - an introductory adventure is 3.0 (easily adaptable since it is for 1st level characters).
Ancestral Vault - 3.0 and 3.5! Yes, there are dual descriptions where needed.
Also, be sure to check out the reviews of these products on the reviews page.
So, have you found this website useful? Are you currently gaming in Nyambe? Do you have any material or Nyambe stories to tell? If someone were to create a DM's screen, what would you like to see on it?

Thanks, I may just have to pick up Ancestral Vault! I'd pick up Dire Spirits as well but I always make up my own adventures. This website's pretty handy, especially the downloadable goodies. I'm not currently playing in Nyambe, per se, but my PCs have recently acquired a sailing ship and are feeling the explorer's itch, having already heard rumors of a far and exotic land ... and that land beyond the horizon will be none other than Nyambe. That's one of the things that attracted me to Nyambe, the fact that the setting deliberately left the details of the rest of the world vague so the dark continent could conveniently be plugged into an existing campaign world. As for a DM's screen, I haven't really given it much thought, since I've got 4 different DM screens from various campaigns already. All I can say is, keep up the good work! I think Nyambe has done for African Adventures what Rokugan has done for Oriental Adventures, they've both provided outstanding places to play that capture the sense of adventure unique to each land. Just as Rokugan makes me want to watch samurai fighting off ninjas, Nyambe makes me want to watch the story of the Zulus rise to power.

Has anyone ever put together a list of 3.0 to 3.5 conversion notes for the original Nyambe book? I'm glad the equipment book is 3.5 compatible (I might grab that when I get a chance), but I want to try to start using 3.5 right off the bat, and I don't want to wind up with problems like characters spending skill points on Intuit Direction or whatever.
I guess off the top of my head, I'm wondering how to handle the fact that Scry skill is gone. Isn't required for reading omens or something?

As far as I know, noone has made a conversion and I don't know of any plans for one. A few skill and feat issues may be all you need to look at. I don't really think much is needed.
A couple of suggestions for scry.
The D&D v.3.5 Accessory Update Booklet for the core rules shows that what used to be scry checks are now will saves. You might want to either use will saves or wisdom checks.
Or you could keep everything the same but just have a new skill called omen reading that is in all regards a new name for the old scry skill. Is it worth it to have a skill only used for omens? Depends on how often they occur in your game. I suggest at least once per game session.
Or, you could house rule back in the old scry skill.
Hope that helps.
