WOW!!! I've been surfing looking for stuff to add to my "African Adventure" and here it is!! Thanks to the ideas you've already put here.
My plan starts next week. The party is made up of average lvl 2 characters who are brought to Shombeland via a "Divine Intervention" ritual.
The tribe has recently moved to this area, is haveing trouble with a monster lion and asked their ancesters for help. That is where the PCs come in. They are from another plan (D&D) and are brought here without an gear at all. But the tribe will supply them with all they want. As long as they hunt the Mchawi and what they assume is his greater familiar.
The hunt starts with a celebration on their arrival. That night a lion sneaks into the Kraal and takes off with tribe member.
Unknow to the party, living in this area is a lone Mchawi. He however is an apprentice and supplies the mojo for his master. His master was killed and is now a Barozi in the form of a lion. Who only wants to gain enough kills to be able to take a new wife.
If the party can kill the apprentice or drive them away to another land their adventure will be a success.
Any aides how to improve this are welcome.
Thanks -Moose

So, what happened in the first session? Have you had more? What is going on in your Nyambe campaign?

The game was a huge success. The party was too weak to take the Mchawi lion, but they finally did get the apprentice. So I now have a Mchawi Lion wandering around with no access to getting any more contents for his mojo bags LOL.
The guys had such a good time in the village (kraal) and in the tribal hunts that followed, they want me to put together another Nyambe adventure. Nothing with the tribe moved fast. They have their own sense of time. Most of the time, it was celebration time!
I'll have them head off in search of an ancient water people burial site next.
It was so much fun, getting them to be afraid when some creator throws dung at them LOL "Your hit with something that smells awful, you take no damage but make a saving throw against disease" "WHAT? ! ? ! ?" "You see him getting more ammo" "RUN, RUN AWAY"
We had so much fun. Like a combination of "Ghost and the Darkness" and "The Gods Must Be Crazy"
